New York! On March 22nd Gerard Malanga birthday was celebrated at The Poetry Project in New York! And Love Love was there too!!

Gerard is the magazine’s most prolific collaborator and mentor & it’s just crazy how inspiring & talented this superstar artist is and always has been!

On Wednesday, March 22, The Poetry Project in NYC was celebrating the poet, photographer, filmmaker, and downtown icon Gerard Malanga on the occasion of his 80th birthday! The evening featured a slideshow of Malanga’s photographs, a screening of Film Notebooks (2005), a reading by Malanga of his recent work, and a conversation and Q&A with Malanga moderated by Vincent Katz.

Editor Lisa Marie also met up with her collaborator and mentor on several occasions, at his home in Hudson, for lunches and for dinner at his favorite restaurant Lucien in NYC. Gerard surrounds himself with cheerful creatives, old, young and in between, among his guests were Anne Waldman, Danny Fields, Dustin Pop, Timothy Baum and many others!
